For almost ten years, Mike served as an active duty Navy SEAL with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He acted as his platoon’s intelligence manager and Join Terminal Attack Controller on over 100 missions in both countries. He then served as a weapons, demolition, and tactics instructor at BUDS, the Navy SEAL basic training school. As a weapons instructor, he has trained over 1200 SEAL candidates, various state and federal law enforcement agencies, and hundreds of civilians.
More recently, Mike works in development at a global real estate company. There he conducts threat assessments on several high-profile assets in the US, UK, and EU, and has helped develop the company’s corporate security policy. Mike also sits on an advisory board at USC that helps military veterans transition into civilian life.
Mike has an MBA from UC San Diego and a BA in International Relations from Boston University. Mike lives in Los Angeles and has two children.
Jake is a native to Southern California. He served for 12 years on active duty in the Navy. During his time in the Navy he served as a Close Quarters Combat Instructor for SEAL Qualification Training at the Naval Special Warfare Center, where he put students through a robust curriculum on their journey to becoming a SEAL. Prior to being a CQC instructor he was a Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL instructor where he was awarded“Instructor of the Year”. Jake spent the bulk of his time in the Navy at a SEAL Team where he deployed multiple times to the Middle East, serving in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
After the Navy, Jake was a partner at ReMax Olson and Associates where he served as a licensed real estate agent. Jake is a mentor for the Marshall School of Business at USC where he helps students transitioning from military service. He also serves on an advisory board at USC that assists members of the special operations community transition from service. He holds a Masters of Business for Veterans (MBV) from University of Southern California and earned his bachelor’s degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis from Norwich University. Jake and his wife Taylor live in the San Fernando Valley and have three children.

Alexis Olgard joins us from the University of Southern California where she was the Director of Operations for USC Volleyball.
Prior to her working for USC, she worked in sales development for Highspot Inc., a software company providing sales enablement tools and software for improving marketing effectiveness.
Alexis graduated with a B.S. in sociology from USC where she was also a starting volleyball player earning the AVCA All-America honors in 2013. Alexis went on to play professionally including contracts in Germany, South Korea, and the Philippines and was a member of the USA Women’s National Training Team competing for Team USA at the 2014 NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualifier.
